Surprise Me: Day Three

I’m a little late geting this one in. I was pretty tired last night when I got home, so I went straight to bed almost.

Anyway, yesterday was my first regular work day since starting this experiment. The whole first half of the day was spent in CPR. We’re getting an AED at Good Sam, so we had to get trained in CPR in order for us to have it. The whole staff from Good Sam was there. Apparently our class was the first in the county to be taught the new standards for CPR. Thats kinda cool. I’ve had CPR like 4 times, but just expired last fall, so nothing was really all that new to me. Just learning the new ratios, etc…and refreshing what I already knew.

After that I had a quick lunch, went and did some office work, and then went to clean up my charcoals from Friday night. We had a BBQ. I then dropped off the water gun at the Youth Center, as I promised (I had borrowed it Friday as well). As I did that, I got the “the look”. Not a bad look, just the, “hurry up and do your business and leave cause I don’t much feel like talking to you” look. While it shouldn’t have, and looking back now, it shouldn’t have at all, it did surprise me just a bit. I dropped off the water gun, said thanks, made a joke about fighting fires, and scurried off, being full aware that anything beyond that would be in the “boundary zone”. Enough about that though.

After work, I took a nap, and then went to Alisha’s for dinner and to set up her computer. That was fun. I enjoy doing that, as I also enjoy hanging out with Alisha. We talked about my birthday plans, which I made over the weekend and a bunch of other random stuff from Japan to fleas. I also got a rash yesterday (not from the fleas). Not sure why. I seem to be getting lots of rashes lately, all seemingly different.

Okay, so again, nothing to earth shattering went on. I’m working hard to refrain from getting frustrated. I’m sure there are surprises waiting on me. Oh, well, one thing to note from yesterday that may or may not be anything. Two things actually, just kinda the same. I got an email from a girl yesterday morning that had sent me an email a few days ago about something, to which I replied and invited her to 707 this friday. She said she’s going to come. She also somehow knew my birthday was in July. I don’t know why. I’m assuming she found me on myspace, via the 707 myspace account and maybe it tells people’s birthdays, I really don’t know. I need to check into that. I also received a friend request for 707 from this lady who just moved her from Hawaii I think. I think either her or her husband (or both) are in the military. She saw the 707 ad on Craigslist. I added her and then sent her a message. She can’t come Friday night, but wants to join us soon.

I’m not sure if those are or could be surprises. Meeting new people is always fun. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see where that goes. Perhaps rather than surprising me right away, God is just laying down the groundwork for stuff later on. Thats my theory anyway.
